A summer nostalgia session at home! A little backyard picnic with berries and a few favorite books, bubbles and toys on the deck, a snack in the playroom (which turned into treats for the pup as well!), ice cream and a neighborhood walk! We had the perfect evening for our photos, and it was such a fun session documenting what life and love with a toddler looks like for them right now : )
Nostalgia sessions are photographed primarily on 35mm film, and the focus is not on smiling at the camera portraits – it’s heavily lifestyle focused, incorporating a favorite place or activity, or a part of your day and routine that you know you’ll love having documented to look back on one day! And of course the love and connection in your family along the way. You might have some photos of yourself as a child – they would have been photographed on film, and they probably feel very nostalgic! That’s the hope and the goal here! Real life, timeless film photos for you and your kids to have decades from now.
A note on these images.. the client requested a selective model release to not show their daughter’s face, which I will always absolutely respect when requested! Of course many more images showing their sweet girl were delivered. These were approved to share by the client (who was okay to share some just not showing their daughter’s face), and I’m excited to get to share a few to give others inspiration for a similar nostalgia session of their own! All but the first black & white image are film!
